Lego/Craft Break In-Person
The Lego/Craft Study Break will be just that: a study break where attendees can do crafts or build with Legos. Barbara Oakley references two ways of thinking in her book Learning How to Learn: focused mode and diffuse mode. Focused mode is traditional learning in an active way, but diffuse mode is when a student relaxes their mind and uses other parts of their brain to make connections between ideas. Your brain must go back and forth between these modes to learn effectively. This study break is a way to use diffuse mode.
